"Insufficient gems" when booking
Booking fails saying you don't have enough gems, even though the price looks right.
If booking fails with Insufficient gems, check these in order.
1. Check your actual balance
Your gem balance is shown in the top bar, and every movement is listed on your Activity page. Booking takes the gems immediately, so a balance that looks fine before booking may not cover the class you’re trying to book.
2. Check the total, not the price of one class
When booking several classes at once, the price shown is per class. Five classes at 17 gems costs 85 gems, not 17.
The confirmation screen shows the full total before you confirm. Read that number, not the per-class one.
3. A free class refusing to book
If a class costs 0 gems and booking is still refused, that was a bug on our side and it was fixed on 3 August 2026. Free classes now book normally. If you still see it, tell an admin the teacher name and the class length.
4. Gems held for classes you already booked
Gems are taken when you book, not when the class happens. If you have several classes booked in the future, those gems are already gone from your balance. Cancelling a class returns them, minus any cancellation penalty.
You can see everything you have booked on your Sessions page.
Still not working?
Send an admin:
- the teacher’s name
- the date and time you tried to book
- the class length
- what your balance says
An admin can see exactly what price the system tried to charge and why it refused.
Still stuck? Contact an admin with your class code (it looks like C-XXXX) so we can check the logs.
